Intercommunal clash kills at least 33 people in Chad

TEHRAN, Nov. 05 (MNA) – At least 33 people were killed in clash between herders and farmers in southwestern Chad, a local official and a traditional leader said on Wednesday.

Deadly conflicts are frequent in the Central African country, usually because local farmers accuse herders of grazing animals on their land, Reuters reported.

Clashes between nomadic herders and sedentary farmers in Southern Chad, an area plagued by heavy conflicts between these two communities, have resulted in the deaths of many.

There were no further details about the incident.
